I have chosen to use guitar pickups because of the wide variety available. Your instrument's future is not limited by my attempts (or anyone else's) to define a set combination of power and response for you.

Rail style humbuckers are the pickups of choice.  String spacing, especially where unison pairs are involved, becomes a non-issue.  Eleven polers might work as well.  The instruments will typically include a coil tap switch.

*Exceptions:  Some of the instruments will not accept Duncans, since these pickups are larger than others.  A *note will appear in the specs.
