Jimmy Millsaps -

Outstanding drummer and independent producer.  He is one of those with uncanny intuition, serving up tasteful percussion on everything from standards of every kind to the unfamiliar multi-signature stuff that I sometimes hit him with.  He exhibits the same intuition when harnessing the talents of his wide circle of musician friends for recording projects.  Ask any long-time Gainesville musician and they'll tell you.  I'll see if I can point you to some of his CD's.  Check back.
H.U.G.E. showcases a number of local people and their songs, including some of Jimmy's compositions.  It's available at Hyde & Zeke's, and it's great!  See below.

Ali Che′Ree -

Multi-instrumentalist, bassist extraordinaire.  A consummate craftsman of sound, he ranks high among all bassists I've ever heard anywhere.  The creative flow of his musical contribution is matched only by its artistry.  Widely known to professionals throughout this state and beyond.    Visit his site, http://www.gosiaandali.com/site/who_we_are.html .-

Michelle Moncrief-Lowe -

Accomplished bassist, superlative vocalist.  Michelle is a natural, devoted talent who radiates harmony both musically and otherwise.  Comfortable and eminently capable in any setting, she exhibits an effortless feminine power and clarity in every musical excursion.  Currently holed-up with the Ashley Gang at www.AshleyGang.com.

Ten Feet Tall, around 1995, at the Fairgrounds, Gainesville, FL. Click for info.

Lipham's -

This has long been the music store for working, playing, and aspiring musicians.  A true Mom & Pop, brick & mortar, Lipham's is still the most firmly established in Gainesville, Florida.

It was Fred Soup primarily who hunted down that Gibson Florentine for me, although Bob Turner was my main guy at the time, having introduced me to that Roundback Mandolin and, later, the Sound City gear.
Of course, none of that would have been possible without Mr. Buster Lipham, who carries on what his dad started way back when.
Hats off, and check 'em out at
http://www.LiphamMusic.com/.

Martin Stillion -

Musician, writer, mastermind behind Emando.com.  One prolific dude.
The Emando site ranges deep and wide with information and links to all mando things electric.
Take a look.
Martin has a CD out of mostly Celtic influenced acoustic music.  It is at times earthy, at times mystic.  I recommend it!
